According to Nice Matin, Keith Jarrett will not play in Juan-les-Pins in 2014:
On sait déjà qu’il se fera sans le pianiste Keith Jarrett, dont la prestation l’an dernier a déçu l’organisateur et le public.
« Ce n’est pas un départ définitif, souligne Jean-René Palacio. Mais je pense qu’il faut souffler au moins un an ». Avec ses deux complices, Jack DeJohnette et Gary Peacock, Jarrett venait de fêter les 30 ans de son trio… et leur 22e saison consécutive dans la pinède Gould !
To my knowledge, this will be the first time since 1999 that Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock, and Jack DeJohnette will not play at the Jazz in Juan festival.

“The premier jazz piano trio of Keith Jarrett, Gary Peacock & Jack DeJohnette hits Seattle as part of a four-city U.S. tour! Celebrating 30 years since their first studio release as a trio, Jarrett, Peacock and DeJohnette bring their locked-in, harmonically unrivaled, rhythmically bolted-down music to Benaroya Hall for a one-night-only concert event.”
Tickets are already available directly from seattlesymphony.org ($30-$125).
Thanks to Howard and David for the information.
On July 12, 1973, Keith Jarrett played a solo concert at the Sendesaal in Bremen, Germany. Part of that concert was released on “Solo Concerts: Bremen/Lausanne”.
Forty years later, on July 12, 2013, a “virtual concert” (that is, without Keith Jarrett) will take place at the same venue. A complete recording of the 1973 concert will be played, “including the unpublished portion of the first set” (“inklusive des unveröffentlichten Teils des ersten Sets”).
More information about this event (tickets, etc.) are available on sendesaal-bremen.de.
Thanks to Hartmut for the information!
An official word from Keith Jarrett’s manager about the concert in Bordeaux:
“The concert in Bordeaux will finally not be happening.
The administration of the new concert hall in Bordeaux (which just opened in January) informed the promoter today that they need to close the new hall for the entire summer to finish work on the hall.
The official advertising for the concert had not begun yet and the tickets had not gone sale.
So the concert at Vittoriale in Gardone Riviera on July 21 will be the last concert on the summer tour.”
