Das WDR Jazzline Archiv zeigt die legendären Konzerte der Berliner Jazztage aus den Jahren 1964 – 1975, diesmal das Konzert der Miles Davis Group in der Berliner Philharmonie vom 6. November 1971, bei dem Keith Jarrett an den Keyboards saß. Joachim Ernst Berendt bezeichnete Davis’ Auftritt in seiner Ansage als den bedeutendsten des ganzen Festivals. Zwischen 1970 und 1973 veränderten sich Sound und Look der Miles Davis Group radikal: Der Free Jazz wich langsam einem harten, teilweise fast schon Punkrock vorweg nehmenden Funk-Sound.

A free snippet (20 seconds) is available. The full version (3:52) is available for 1.50 EUR (as a DRM-protected DivX video file, unfortunately – or as a DVD, but you’ll have to pay for shipping).

Keith Jarrett plays with Gus Nemeth (bass) and Aldo Romano (drums). As far as I know, this is the only video of this group ever released.
