Hello all,

The Verve Music Group reissued Treasure Island in 2009.  I have just ordered it from Ray's Jazz in London.

If anyone learns of any reissues of the remaining seven Impulse! albums, can they please post here?

Hello Oliver,

I received Treasure Island today.  It is copyrighted as a 2009 edition, packaged in a 'digipak' cardboard case, there are no additonal songs and no claims of additonal remixing or remastering, so I presume it is an identical disc to that of the The Impulse Years: 1973-1974 boxset.

I think that case here is that the Impulse! albums have simply been out of print for a few years and now Treasure Island is back in distribution.  I hope Fort Yawuh, Byablue, Bop-Be and so on will follow eventually.

If you look at the link below, it lists the CDs and their issue dates.  As you can see, Treasure Island was reissued in 2009; the rest of the albums have not been reissued since 2006.

Using Verve Group's website as a guide, it appears that Shades has never been issued on CD!

The Impulse box sets are long out of print too!  There is the opition of buying a used/second hand set but the prices are very high.

I hope Verve Records will have the Impulse Records albums reissued in the near future, including 'Shades'.  And I hope they send Mr Jarrett royalty payments when they do so!  The Treasure Island 2009 reissue is very attractive.
