Keith Tippett (born 1947 in Bristol, UK) is a pianist and composer. He is also a great improvisor, in solo and group performances.
Aside from extensive list solo recording output, Tippett has contributed to a number of a groups, including the improvising quartet Mujician. He has also led 'big bands', such as Centipede and The Tapestry Orchestra.
Tippett was briefly associated with the group King Crimson in the early 1970s, in which he contributed to the albums In The Wake of Poseidon, Lizard and Islands.
